Publishing Process
教育與科技出版社出版流程
1. Author submits partial manuscript
The author shall submit partial manuscript materials, preferably including the table of contents, preface and Chapter 1, to facilitate preliminary typesetting by EDUTECH Press.
2. EDUTECH Press conducts typesetting and produces sample chapter
Upon receiving the manuscript excerpt, EDUTECH Press carries out typesetting in accordance with official publishing standards and provides a sample chapter for the author’s review.
3. Author reviews, revises and confirms the sample chapter
The author may propose revisions to the text and layout of the sample chapter. After adjustments by EDUTECH Press, the author shall confirm the final version of the sample chapter.
4. Sign Publishing Contract (Key Stage)
The author formally enters into a publishing contract with EDUTECH Press.
Concurrent arrangement: The author pays 70% of the publishing fee.
5. EDUTECH Press completes full-book typesetting
After the contract takes effect, the author provides the complete manuscript, and EDUTECH Press commences unified typesetting for the whole book.
Concurrent arrangement: EDUTECH Press allocates an independent ISBN.
6. Manuscript review and proofreading by EDUTECH Press
Editors of EDUTECH Press conduct review and proofreading on the complete manuscript.
Note: The number of review & proofreading rounds depends on the publishing package selected by the author. Proofreading only checks textual accuracy and formatting, and does not endorse the validity of the author’s academic viewpoints, data or conclusions.
7. Author’s final confirmation of the complete manuscript
EDUTECH Press submits the fully reviewed manuscript (text and complete layout) to the author for final confirmation. No substantial revisions will be accepted after confirmation in principle.
8. Print physical sample copy (Key Stage)
A physical sample copy is printed based on the finalized version and sent to the author for review and confirmation.
9. Balance payment & bulk printing
After approving the physical sample copy, the author pays the remaining 30% publishing fee.
Upon receiving full payment, the Press proceeds with bulk printing. The quantity of printed copies follows the selected publishing package.
10. Book registration & sample copy distribution
11. EDUTECH Press submits the required number of books to the Hong Kong Books Registration Office for statutory publication registration.
12. The designated number of finished copies will be delivered to the author as stipulated in the package.
13. Publishing Completed
All procedures including registration and sample copy delivery are finished; the book is officially published.
Supplementary Terms (Important Notes on Manuscript Review)
1. Peer Review
There is no statutory requirement under Hong Kong publishing laws for monographs to undergo external peer review. Peer review is an academic self-regulation practice, not a mandatory pre-publication procedure.
2. Legal and Academic Liability for Content
The author bears primary responsibility for the publication. All facts, viewpoints, data and conclusions within the manuscript are subject to the author’s full academic and legal liability.
EDUTECH Press only conducts preliminary compliance screening to identify unlawful content such as defamation or illegal promotion (e.g. violation of the Undesirable Medical Advertisements Ordinance). EDUTECH Press takes no responsibility for verifying the scientific validity of academic conclusions in the work.
1. 作者提交部分書稿
作者先行提交部分書稿資料，建議內容包含圖書目錄、前言以及第一章正文內容，便於出版社開展初步版式試排工作。
2. 教科社進行排版並出具樣章
出版社收到書稿片段後，按照正式出版版式標準開展排版工作，生成圖書樣章交付作者審閱。
3. 作者審閱、修改並確認樣章
作者針對樣章的文字內容、版式格式提出修改意見；出版社完成調整後，由作者最終確認樣章版本。
4. 簽訂出版合同（核心節點）
作者與教育與科技出版社正式簽署出版合作合同。
同步事項：作者支付70%出版費用。
5. 教科社開展全書完整排版
合同生效後，作者提供完整書稿，出版社啟動全書統一版式排版工作。
同步事項：教科社分配獨立ISBN書號。
6. 出版社開展書稿審校工作
出版社編輯人員對完整書稿開展審校工作。
備註：審校服務次數依據作者選定的出版套餐執行；校對工作僅針對文字表述正誤、格式規範進行核查；不對作品學術觀點、資料結論的科學性做背書。
7. 作者最終確認完整書稿
出版社將經過審校後的完整書稿（包含文字內容、全書排版樣式）提交作者，由作者最終定稿確認。一經確認，原則上不再進行大範圍內容修改。
8. 印刷實體樣書（核心節點）
依據定稿版本印製實體樣書，首本樣書交由作者審閱確認。
9. 支付尾款並批量印製圖書
作者確認實體樣書無誤後，支付剩餘30%出版費用。
出版社收到尾款後，開展圖書批量印刷工作，印刷樣書數量依照選定出版套餐執行。
10. 圖書備案與樣書分發
11. 出版社負責遞交指定數量圖書至香港書刊註冊組完成法定出版備案手續；
12. 按照套餐約定，向作者交付對應數量成品樣書。
13. 出版完成
完成備案、樣書交付全部流程，本書正式出版，全流程結束。
補充規則說明（圖書審核重要注釋）
1. 關於同行評審
香港相關出版法規沒有強制要求圖書專著必須進行外部專家同行評審。同行評議屬於學術自律行為，並非法定前置出版流程。
2. 關於內容法律與學術責任
圖書內容第一責任人為作者本人。書稿內所有事實、觀點、資料、結論，由作者承擔全部學術責任與法律責任。
出版社僅開展合規初審，核查內容是否存在誹謗、違法宣傳（例如違反《不良醫藥廣告條例》）等違規情形；出版社不會對書中學術結論、研究成果的科學性進行事實擔保。
